Perinatal Mental Health

parent and child embracing

Perinatal Mental Health are services that support new parenthood from pregnancy through one year postpartum. Whether this is a first pregnancy or the 5th, becoming a new parent can be overwhelming. It is a massive transition, and perinatal mental health therapists provide a unique holding space for the celebration, trepidation, anxieties, depression, etc. that come with this transition. Research has shown biological differences in brains of mothers with Postpartum Depression and those of women with Depression outside of the perinatal period; they are different experiences and deserve different approaches.

Perinatal Mental Health addresses more than the Postpartum Depression (PPD) seen in the media. We work with a spectrum of mood and anxiety disorders. If there are any concerns by a pregnant or newly postpartum person or a loved one, these are appropriate services to seek out. Reach out today, if you want to learn more. I provide 15 minute free consultations ahead of every new client appointment.
