You are not alone.
Becoming a parent is hard. It is hard emotionally. It is hard physically. It is hard relationally. Together we can make it a little less hard. You are not alone in this.
As a Child and Family Therapist trained in Infant and Perinatal Mental Health, I have an exciting opportunity to provide you support as you enter into this new phase of life. Whether you are contemplating pregnancy and starting your family or you have a couple children already and want some validation and guidance, we can journey together.
I use a very relationship-focused approach in my work. If your child is the "identified client," parents are incredibly involved in the process. If newly post-partum parents are the "identified client," infants and young children are often involved. I believe we live in a family, so family should be part of our healing. We figure out together how that looks. I also use tools from evidence-based practices such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical-Behavioral Therapy, play therapy, and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) in our work. Check out my "About Me" page for more in-depth information on how I approach therapy.
If you're looking for extra support and guidance through a specific situation or you're just wanting someone to talk to who is not going to judge your parenting choices, I look forward to working with you to help you feel more confident and prepared.
One of my favorite parts about working with parents is helping them realize just how well they really are doing. I am excited to meet you and help you see that too.
